Organizational Overview

Turbeville Insurance Agency was founded in 1991 by William (Bill) Turbeville, Jr. and has grown to include four office locations (Beaufort, Charleston, Columbia and Lexington) with over 70 dedicated and experienced staff members available to meet all clients’ insurance needs. The agency works with over 70 carriers allowing us to write coverage for personal lines, commercial lines as well as life and health policies.

Position Overview

The Personal Lines (PL) Assistant is a full-time, in-office role in the company's Beaufort, South Carolina location. The PL Assistant plays an integral role of Personal Lines Operations by providing support to the PL account Managers and PL producers through policy management, client file quality control, and agency bill invoicing. The PL assistant must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and have a willingness to support all staff through various processes.

The following is a list of the essential functions of this position. This list is intended to be representative of the tasks preformed within the position description but is not limited to:

  • Serve as a primary backup to the Front Desk/Reception, including some coordination of calendars, lunch schedules, and absences.
  • Assist with preparation of daily deposits, distribution of DB payments, and invoicing of AB transactions.
  • Order change requests and update the Agency Management System, including the addition of appropriate follow-up notes.
  • Prepare Explanation of Payment forms and deliver for lender changes on active policies.
  • Prepare and distribute marking letters or client emails.
  • Provide client quality control by reviewing core files for accuracy and completion in the Agency Management System, including completion of the client's details, the billing information, and the producer’s information.
  • Assist with client services as directed by department managers.
  • Perform additional duties, functions, tasks, or special projects as directed by department managers.

Required Experience:

  • Industry experience preferred but not required
  • P&C license a plus, but not initially required

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Benefits

The position offers paid time off, as well as paid dental, life insurance, health insurance, and long-term disability for the employee. After completing a year of service, the employee will be eligible for remote work two days a week during the August enrollment period. Employees are also eligible for a bonus program.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and team lift in excess of 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
